Big museum. Big collections. Big plans. And a new strapline - Think Big.
The Railway Museum in York is embracing radical change as it plays a key part in delivering the Science Museum Group's Masterplan North.
We faciliated two cross-departmental workshops at the museum to help shape their thinking and provided feedback and comments on their current plans.
The first workshop identified the big narrative idea for the redevelopment of the Great Hall - home to some really fabulous objects and a real, working turntable.
The second tackled the current and slightly slippery subject of relevance - a much-used word but perhaps not often unpicked and examined in close detail. The team discussed their understanding of relevance and came up with a set of principles to guide how the Railway Museum can become ever-more relevant to its audiences.
